Parking on Westpark Drive** **north of Hesby St is best because it’s furthest away from where people let their dogs off leash.** **WHAT TO BRING: Water for you and your dog. We will do some mental exercises and there will be lots of distractions and stimuli, so bring Iots of high value treats for your pup, too.** **PACK WALK DISTANCE: About 1.5 - 2 miles round trip.** **TRAIL: Mix of paved, dirt path and grass.** **DIFFICULTY: Easy** **DISTRACTION LEVEL: Now that it is lighter later there's the usual- other park visitors, other dogs, birds, squirrels, an “unofficial off-leash” dog section, etc.** **LARPBO PACK WALK GUIDELINES:** **#1 All dogs must be on a secure collar and leash. Dogs using e-collars must also be on a leash. Prong collars should be backed up with a carabiner. Short leashes are recommended (less than 6 feet). Retractable leashes and harnesses are not allowed as they provide little control.** **#2 PLEASE NO NOSE TO NOSE CONTACT (dog to dog that is). Always maintain a six-foot distance between dogs. There should be no dog-on-dog interaction.** **#3 Please bring doggie poo bags.** **#4 Make sure you bring water for you and your dog.** **#5 One dog per handler. No exceptions!** **#6 Share the road. Move to the right to let others pass.** * **All breeds welcome.** * **There will be foot traffic, bikes, and several others dogs. August 2026 - Playtest games at Geeky Teas!

**Players and game designers wanted for this open house style event!** Please read the event schedule, and all members, new and old, should check out the Code of Conduct at the bottom of this text. **FEE:** $8 to play at Geeky Teas - payable at the event to Geeky Teas at front desk. If this is your first time showing your game at FPLA, please introduce yourself to either Damon or Cassandra (one or both will be near the front of the room) before your session for a quick explainer on how to get your game to the table and what to expect from playtesting.* **SCHEDULE:** Game days have 3 segments. **You do not need to come for the whole day!** However, it is good etiquette if you are testing your own game to stay and test at least one other designer's game as well. 11:00am - 1:00 pm **OPEN PLAY TESTING** This is unstructured play time, ideal for short games (45min or less), 2 player games, and games that require a quieter environment. If you're a designer, grab an available table and let people know you are looking for players. If you're a player, just sit down at a game and play! **SESSION ONE** 1:15pm - 3:15pm **SESSION TWO** 3:30pm - 5:30pm Scheduled sessions are the core of First Play! This event we have three scheduled sessions, with about 4-6 games running during each time slot. Following moderator announcements, each designer running a game will have the opportunity to do an 'elevator pitch' to players. After which, players decide which game they want to play. Two hour sessions are ideal for games that are 60-90 minutes, and have been playtested multiple times before. After play, be sure to leave time to give and receive feedback. Oh, and sometimes we give away prizes! 5:30-6:30pm **DINNER BREAK** 6:30-10pm **THE SKUNKWORKS** This is unstructured time to test your wildest ideas. Bring the game that may break in 5 minutes, the one that requires 10 people, or the one that may involve crawling on the ground. Bring objects that *could* be games, half baked ideas, and untested print and plays. Students will learn to observe and record the human head in clay using sight sizing and comparative measuring techniques to build a head from profile to fully rendered face, neck and base. Techniques like the following will be applied: \- Learning how to draw in space \- take notes on the sculpture itself \- and get comfortable with the medium on a basic level in order to form a strong foundation from which to build upon\. This class will teach students how to quickly and efficiently construct a portrait bust in clay with the possibility of casting it in Plaster, Resin or even bronze for those willing. Our monthly coffee meetups are back: bringing together UX designers, UX researchers, content designers, content strategists, UX writers, and other product professionals to connect and build community. Strategicon Gateway 2026

Strategicon is Los Angeles' game convention that runs 3x / year. (Note: This event is not sponsored by our meetup, but is listed here because some of us go and game there.) About Strategicon: "Our conventions offer the chance to play, watch and buy a variety of board games, card games miniatures, roleplaying, collectables, and computer games. Convention opens on Friday at noon and runs continuously until Monday at 6 p.m." Going to Strategicon to game? Saturday includes RPG Games on Demand at various times, and Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions include an RPG Games on Demand - Kids Edition. There's also tons of scheduled RPGs and games of all types. Check the Events schedule at the website for more details (it gets updated as the convention comes closer to running).
