🦵 Go West – Spandau Forest with game enclosure – 15 km 🐗🐑🦌

Sat, Sep 12, 10:32 AM
From Berlin Weekend Hiking/Biking/Outdoor
4.8

Meeting point is **12:32** at **Bus stop Johannesstift in Spandau (M45, 671). That's also where we'll end (round tour).** Yes, it's outside of Ringbahn, yes it's even in Spandau (what an adventure!). We'll be walking around in the beautiful Spandau forest. Highlights: * enclosure with several kinds of wild game (meaning the animals, not "wild games", don't worry) * "Eiskeller": Area in the forest where it's several degrees cooler than usual, due to its unique gelogy * swampy areas (bogs; paths are safe) Depending on the composition of the group, it should take us less than 4 hours. Please don't forget to BRING enough food, liquids and clothes... according to the weather forecast. There are no shops/cafés on the route. Komoot: [Route](https://www.komoot.com/tour/935349824?share_token=af0CdAs1H32M1SKox7nJH0gTsBP512EfYhsKYJds28O8EMyE0h&ref=wtd) Please, please, please try to be on time. If not, please understand that I cannot make +10 people waiting idly. I can share my live location for those who are late, but for the sake of the group (and my nerves) cannot communicate much via chats after we start. I'm not a professional guide and according to Meetup rules not liable for anyone's safety. If you can't make it, please be respectful enough to update your confirmation of participation in a timely manner, to give those on the waiting list a fair chance to prepare. See you!

Late Summer Hike: Wendisch Rietz to Lindenberg (24 km)

Late Summer Hike: Wendisch Rietz to Lindenberg (24 km)

Sat, Sep 12, 9:00 AM
From BerlinTravel Meetup
4.9

Let's enjoy the last warm days of this summer and hike along a chain of lakes (including a boardwalk), fields, woods and villages! There will be at least one opportunity for swimming, so bring your swimsuit and a towel. A highlight is the Lindenberg railway viaduct, built at the end of the 19th century which we'll cross underneath. The hike ends in the town of Lindenberg, known for astronomic research in the last century. From its train station we catch one of the trains that run every hour back to Königs Wusterhausen / Berlin. Meet us in the **first car of the train RE7**, departing from **Ostkreuz station at 11:02 on platform 1,** **arriving at Königs Wusterhausen at 11:20, then taking the Train RB36 at 11:33 on platform 3 to Wendisch Rietz, Bahnhof.** Unless you are subscribed to the Deutschlandticket, you need to buy a train ticket to Wendisch Rietz. Please note: * As a grown-up, you are responsible for yourself. * Come prepared for wet and windy weather. * Wear appropriate footwear, we may come across some muddy and sandy sections. * Bring enough water, food and some cash with you. * Please be fair and only RSVP if you are sure you can make it and update if your plans change. See you on Saturday!
