First Sunday of the month social ride for every level and all groups

From Barcelona Road Cycling Group

**BCRG first Sunday of the month social ride** **What to Expect:** This is a monthly riding event that the organizers of BRCG created to socialize between the different groups and levels of the participants of this meetup. Every organizer shares the details of his ride below and you can attend signing up for the event and answering the name of the organizer you will go with. After the rides, around **1:30PM**, all groups will meet for drinks in Badalona near the beach at **[La Pecadora](https://maps.app.goo.gl/zP7GsQqzviEbYdQd8)**: they have a garden and a safe space for bikes if we want to go inside. **Is This Ride for Me?** Before to sign up for a ride check the details of the route, elevation, km and speed level expected. While this ride is open to everyone, we ask that you are comfortable riding in groups, have a **road bike**, and **have done rides of similar distance and elevation** before. We welcome all newcomers but everyone is expected to be **self-sufficient**, therefore please bring not only your helmet, a spare inner tube, at least 1lt of water and a energy snack if you wish but also sync the route, bring phone and some cash. **Safety:** Beside wearing an helmet, proper shoes (not open shoes) and a road bike in good conditions **every rider is responsible of his own safety** and must respect the [spanish cyclist regulations](https://www.dgt.es/comunicacion/noticias/20-normas-que-todo-ciclista-debe-conocer/), ultimate safety starts and ends with everyone riding responsibly. Ride leaders will do their best to keep the group together, moving smoothly and safely at all times. We'll stop at red lights and obey traffic rules. **There's no commercial interest behind this event;** it's just a bunch of people sharing a fun day out. Looking forward to riding with you! **Group A Beginners** Organizer: **Alicia** Route link: [https://www.strava.com/routes/3451309873499715228](https://www.strava.com/routes/3451309873499715228) Elevation: 263 m Distance in km: 55 km Average Speed: 19 km/h Ave Time expected: 2:56 Starting time: 10:00 AM Starting point: [Granier Café Port Badalona](https://maps.app.goo.gl/CpPZK2S6sZxpXM7b8) **Group B Slow Intermediate** Organizer: **Tiziana** Route link: https://www.komoot.es/tour/2744196187 [https://www.strava.com/routes/3451275837302813652](https://www.strava.com/routes/3451275837302813652) Elevation: 743 Distance in km: 55 Average Speed: 18km/hr Ave time expected: 3hr 30min Starting time: 10AM Starting point: [Churreria outside Montgat train station](https://maps.app.goo.gl/m1NVwFgES5d1c96r6) **Group C Intermediate** Organizer: **Ron** Route link: https://www.komoot.es/tour/2744196187 [https://www.strava.com/routes/3451284568033087444](https://www.strava.com/routes/3451284568033087444) Elevation: 765 Distance in km: 66 Average Speed: 21 km/h Ave time expected: 3hr Starting time: 10:00AM Starting point: [Hotel Arts](https://maps.app.goo.gl/gabuMSa4d5yQT1BG8) **Group D Intermediate +** Organizer: **Olaf** Route link: [https://www.strava.com/routes/3451473672405872368](https://www.strava.com/routes/3451473672405872368) Elevation: 1100 Distance in km: 80 Average Speed: 25 km/h Ave time expected: 3:30 Starting time: 10AM Starting point: [Hotel Arts](https://maps.app.goo.gl/LMYbxPasxSUAT2nV8)

Free hike at Tibidabo/Vallvidrera (Las Planas)

Free hike at Tibidabo/Vallvidrera (Las Planas)

From Free Hiking with Friends Barcelona

After the last event the (ca 30) participants came up with the following hike: https://www.komoot.com/tour/2771452066?ref=itd&share_token=aZqf974FKx8FfI44NAo0S8z1obCIOvxeIEXVAwMUvL5rXo7bNW&ref=its with the option to also visit the abandoned sanitorium of Las Planas nearby. 🏁The original route is 6.8km, adding the sanitorium would make it 10km. People can decide spontaneously which they prefer. ⏱️This is a hike for about half a day with lots of nice stations and really good views of the beautiful panorama. ⛰️ In this mountain area there are points with a bigger slope where it makes sense not to wear slippery shoes. With the right shoes this hike is easy. 👯‍♂️We do doable, social hikes in a relaxed atmosphere where you can chat a bit in this group. 📆Meetup is at 10:00 AM right at the bus stop “Pl Tibidabo”, located at the square in front of the church. 🍲🥕Afterwards, people who are in the mood can go to one of the nearby restaurants/grab a drink, this is optional of course. IMPORTANT NOTES: Please check out the hike route and make sure that it's suitable for your abilty. The Whatsapp group details will be emailed to you the day before the hike. This helps with communication on the day. Bring waterproof jacket/snacks/water/sunscreen/ extra layers. HIKING SHOES or very good trainers with grip for this one. \#\# ⚠️ **Important** This is a **free, voluntary social walk** on **marked public trails**. Everyone participates **independently** and is responsible for **their own safety, decisions, and insurance**. This is **not** a guided or instructional activity. \*\*\*
