A most amazing day of walking around 9 to 10 miles by the Thames in this most beautiful part of Buckinghamshire along with a fabulous countryside walk to Hambleden, a very pretty National Trust village that houses a medieval street and distinctive brick and flint cottages and then in the afternoon a lovely countryside walk to wonderful Marlow. We shall stop for lunch in Hambleden itself. Things to bring : packed lunch, water, snacks etc and waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers. Train to take : 10.38am to Twyford arriving at 11.08am and then train to Henley-on-Thames at 11.15am arriving at 11.27am. Train back at around 4.45pm. Train ticket : Henley-on-Thames return We will need buy a supplementary fare from Marlow to Maidenhead on the return journey. Or you may decide to drive. Ready to get outside? Our Thursday morning session in Dulwich park is back! At this moment we can meet with up to 30 people (of more than two households) to do outdoor exercise and walks. However, i like to keep our exercise groups small, so I have set the maximum participants at 12. For now this walk is for our experienced Nordic Walkers only, who already used to Nordic Walk with us regularly before Covid 19 kept us indoors, and who have their own Nordic Walking poles. As this session is outdoors, we will not ask you to wear a face mask, but we do ask you to keep 2 meters apart. Some of our walkers might be immune compromised or more at risk, so please help us keep everyone safe! Introducing Social Meeples! A local board game club based in Thames Ditton. Been running since mid 2023, however new to meetup as would love to welcome more new faces to our club. We run every two weeks on a Thursday evening - Ye Olde Swan from 7pm. The evening starts at 7pm usually flows as follows: Start of the night as people arrive, general socialising & start off with a quick group game. Once this concludes, we break into multiple groups depending on game type, interest and complexity & the night rolls on from there, generally finishing by 10pm. Each week members are encouraged to bring along games they wish to play & we choose games from the selection available on the night. We find this is a great way to play new games. We are beginner friendly; with a run down on the rules of each game before we start.

The **Seven Sisters** are a spectacular series of gleaming white chalk cliffs formed at the end of the last Ice Age by glacial meltwater. Erosion has since created an “eighth sister,” and today the cliffs stand as one of England’s most iconic landscapes. We begin in the coastal town of **Seaford**, home to a Napoleonic-era **Martello Tower** built in 1810 as part of a chain of 103 coastal defences against French invasion. From here, the trail climbs onto the cliff tops, where for much of the day we walk high above the sea, treated to endless coastal views and fresh sea air. Our route follows the **South Downs Way**, passing through **Birling Gap** and past the striking **Belle Tout Lighthouse**, famously moved 17 metres inland in 1999 to save it from falling into the sea. The final highlight is **Beachy Head**, a dramatic beauty spot with sheer chalk cliffs dropping into the sea below. Walk length 13miles/20km approx. Circular. A chance to explore some Cotswold countryside close to the edge of Oxford with a number of features including the views of Blenheim Palace from Blenheim Park, the pretty market town of Woodstock and the remains of a small Roman Villa that is free to visit at North Leigh. Blenheim Palace was designed in an English Baroque Style and was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. North Leigh Roman Villa dates from the 4th century and is regarded as one of the larger Roman Villas of Roman Britain. Lunch and Finish Please bring a packed snack lunch and water for the walk, we will probably have lunch at Woodstock. This is a medium hike with undulating terrain. Transport & meeting Meet outside Hanborough Train Station for walk to start after the train arrives at 10.54am. The 9.50am from London Paddington gets to Hanborough for 10.56am. If you want to meet for groupsaves suggest meeting close to the WHSmith at Paddington (see photo below) at 9.20am to give yourself time to get tickets. Return train fare is approx. £29 super saver return with a network railcard or about the same price with a groupsave of 3 or more (must travel back together with groupsave). The organizer is coming by train from High Wycombe and not London so will meet the group at Hanborough. £7 cash payable on the day guided walk & meetup costs.
