Rosie's Farm Sanctuary Volunteer Day - Sunday
Join us for a volunteer day helping the animals at Rosie's Farm Sanctuary in Potomac, MD.
Before attending this event, you must sign a liability waiver. Please use this link https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/b5nky2tonaovjqgjn6ap5p/web/
The chores you will be doing are physical. You will be working on big projects that require many volunteers like removing old bedding, sanitizing stals and replacing with new bedding, along with the daily clean up chores. Wear boots and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty.
Feel free to bring a filled water bottle. On sunny days a brimmed hat and sunglasses may be helpful. Sunscreen is also suggested.
Please do not bring any food or yummy-smelling items on your body or in your bag as our animals love to eat and are on special diets.
Out of respect for the animals, we do not allow any food with animal products to be consumed at Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary. Please ensure that all edible items are plant-based (no dairy, no cheese, no cow’s milk ice cream, no meat, no fish, no eggs). Thank you for your cooperation and respect for this. It is very important to us.
There is a gift shop where you can browse and warm up during the event.
Please post your pictures and tag Rosie’s Farm Sanctuary and Rockville Vegans!
We are limited to 30 volunteers, so please change your RSVP if you cannot attend.
If there is interest, we may go out to eat in one of our local vegan restaurants afterward.

Vegan Picnic at Downtown Crown
Come gather with us for a picnic at Downtown Crown's Crown Park. At this picnic you can bring food from home, or purchase something from one of the vegan friendly vendors at Downtown Crown or nearby. Some vegan-friendly businesses include &Pizza, Mezeh, The Crepe Shoppe, and Spice Life.
Please make sure that the food you bring or purchase is vegan. While you do not need to be vegan to attend this event, we ask that you respect our group rules and only eat something with Rockville Vegans that is 100% vegan.
Downtown Crown has outdoor seating; however, we recommend you bring a blanket and/or folding chair to ensure you have a place to sit.
Please message or comment with any questions. We hope to see you there!
Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary adopt-a-road trash pickup
Rockville Vegans will be picking up trash on the outside of Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary as part of their adopt-a-highway program. Poplar will provide all the supplies - gloves, bags, and visibility vests. We will be parking just inside the gate as you enter the farm property.
VSDC Volunteer Day at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary
Join us for a VSDC volunteer day at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary! It is a great way to lend a hand while enjoying up-close time with the more than 200 animals that call Poplar home.
Volunteer tasks will range from those requiring mobility and strength to less demanding activities, including raking, cleaning barns and pastures, and washing and refilling water buckets.
Wear clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. No food or drink is available on-site, so bring water. Please leave snacks in the car so the animals don't help themselves.
Please arrive by 9:45 am so we can gather and start at 10 am sharp.
Thank you for helping the animals, and we look forward to seeing you there!
