Sun, Nov 8, 11:00 AMLets sketch in the sculpture room at the V&A South Kensington I love this set of rooms, there's tonnes of amazing sculptures here. Sculptures act as such effective life drawing models cus they don't move! If anyone wishes to sketch any other part of the museum they are of course welcome to. We will meet outside the main entrance on Cromwell Road at 11am, I'll wait for about 15 minutes and then we will head in to the sculpture room together. Afterwards we can then meet back there at 1pm and maybe sit in the courtyard and compare drawings! Nearest Tube Stop: South Kensington What Three Words: ///shorts.cards.legs Completely free of charge, no need to sign up, bring a friend. Feel free to drop in for the whole two hours or just short while if you'd prefer. Look for the tall ginger fella with a sketchbook as an indicator of the meetup spot, but feel free to roam as far and wide as you like and sketch anything you damn well please! Please bring your own sketchbooks and pens/pencils. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- About Sketchbook London Every week we will choose a location around the magnificent city of London and draw people, buildings, pigeons, bins, anything you want.... No payment, no pressure, no need to sign up, just show up and draw for a couple of hours. All levels, abilities and professions welcome, bring a friend! Zero pressure to interact, network, impress in any way, this is just a way to get out and about and appreciate the joy of urban sketching and all the weird and wonderful creatures that inhabit this thriving metropolis. Through playful exercises, unexpected roles and collaborative challenges, we’ll experiment with what happens when different perspectives meet — and when they don’t quite fit. **You might think you know what you think. But change your perspective, step into someone else’s shoes, or find yourself in an unexpectedly absurd conversation, and things can get interesting.** You might find yourself defending a position you’d never normally take, or discovering that two seemingly incompatible viewpoints can create something neither could have arrived at alone. The aim isn’t to agree, get it right or simply understand the other person. It’s to stay curious about what happens between us — and discover how our perspectives can open up new possibilities when we meet. We see creativity as a potential within everyone, not something mysterious or rare. You don't need to think of yourself as "creative" to find it — it's already there, waiting to be nurtured, if we only find the right conditions for it to grow. **Bring your curiosity, leave your sensible shoes and your judgement at the door. Meet interesting people. Have some fun. Leave with techniques to disrupt the predictable.**
