Each player has a set of four action cards to manage their gameplay, and the power of an action is determined by the slot the card currently occupies. One of those cards will let you play projects, and the other three cards will let you play animals of a specific habitat: forest, rock, or water. *Sanctuary* is based on its predecessor *Ark Nova*, but modifies and simplifies many of the mechanisms of that game in an elegant and surprising manner. Your goal to find the best way to puzzle together your animals, buildings, and projects on your zoo map is an ongoing pleasure!

In 2025, IHL conducted a survey to understand how internationals in Leuven and the surrounding areas were doing. One thing internationals mentioned they needed more of was mental health support. So we are launching Mental Health Meetups at IHL. Each month, different topics will be featured relating to mental health. The events will be hosted by mental health professionals, bringing their expertise to the international community. These events will be in a variety of formats. Some will be informational, conversational, interactive, etc. It's a safe space to participate how you would like (active or passive). **Theme for this event:** Holding Two Worlds: Living Abroad While Parents Grow Older Living abroad often means building a meaningful life in one country while remaining emotionally connected to another. As parents grow older, many internationals carry a complex mix of love, guilt, worry, sadness, pressure and helplessness - often quietly and alone. This reflective mental health salon offers a supportive space to explore the emotional impact of having aging parents, specifically in another country. Through guided reflection and shared conversation, we will gently name the challenges of caring from afar, navigating responsibility and limits, and holding two worlds at the same time. Our salons are facilitated conversations for internationals who want to feel less alone in their experience. You do not need to have prior group therapy experience to attend, but a willingness to share, try something new, and empathize with others are all helpful. :)

WHAT we play. As you know, we have two events, one more for social games on Thursday and another for **strategic games** on **Monday**. Depending on what people bring, we may play brainy games, not limited to chess and classic games. So, feel free to bring other ones. And this is only indicative. Some games like Decrypto fit both events, **and if people feel like playing a social game on Monday or a more strategic one on Thursday, they are free to do so.** WHERE. Birds of prey numbers increase dramatically each winter in the county as our resident birds are joined by many others. Join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy to search for winter raptors. We will drive the back roads of Loudoun until dusk with frequent stops to find and identify the many hawks, hopefully an owl or two, and any other birds that overwinter here.
