FULL MOON WALK! FREE WALK, DOGS WELCOME - Beautiful Night Wonder of Hyde Park
FULL MOON WALK! FREE WALK, DOGS WELCOME - Beautiful Night Wonder of Hyde Park
FULL MOON WALK! FREE WALK, DOGS WELCOME - Beautiful Night Wonder of Hyde Park, day before BANK holiday Good Friday so PUB drinks after! Walk Info below the Moon info.. While we are on our Moon Walk, NASA's astronauts will be getting ready to orbit the moon for the first time in over 50 years since 1972! They leave our Planet Earth the day before our walk on 1st April and the Spaceflight is making History! It will be the first time a black astronaut (Mr Glover) and a woman (Ms Koch) are on a lunar mission and will orbit the moon. The first time ever folks, since humanity began! They are on a mission to see if humans can sustain life on the moon! So, in celebrating this wonderful event, we are hosting a free Moonwalk, not Michael Jackson but for this historical event! I was very lucky to personally meet Buzz Aldrin (Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story is named after him), and Buzz was on the same Apollo 11 spacecraft as Neil Armstrong, the first humans to walk on the Moon or any Planet in July 1969. Artemis II (1st April departure serves as the critical bridge to **Artemis IV** (currently planned for 2028), which is intended to be the first mission to land humans on the lunar surface since 1972. Please join us for a wonderful Full Moon 3 mile linear free night walk through Green Park, Bomber Command, Wellington Arch, Hyde Park, the Serpentine, Diana Memorial Fountain, ending at Hyde Park Underground Station! Please note this walk has not been tested before, something never tried so can not guarantee the moon! (weather permitting) and route should be fine as I walk through Hyde Park at midnight at Christmas 2025 and all was open, but we will find a way, whatever happens! BEER AND WINE AFTER SOCIAL DAY BEFORE BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY! Will be having drinks after at 3 or 4 historic pubs, dogs allowed in bar area only. There will be no seating as very busy pubs, maybe standing room only with no chance to seat eat, but plenty of drink and peanuts, ha! Hyde Park Grade I listed, it is the largest of the Royal Parks. The park was established by Henry VIII in 1536 when he took the land from Westminster Abbey and used it as a hunting ground. It opened to the public in 1637 and quickly became popular, particularly for May Day parades. The park's name comes from the Manor of Hyde and appears as such in the Domesday Book. The name is believed to be of Saxon origin and means a unit of land, the hide. Hyde Park was a popular duelling spot during the 18th century, with 172 taking place, leading to 63 fatalities. The Serpentine a 40-acre created in 1730 at the behest of Queen Caroline. Originally fed by the River Westbourne and Tyburn Brook in the 1730s, the lake's water was then pumped from the Thames in the 1830s. Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain The design aims to reflect Diana's life, water flows as it cascades, swirls and bubbles before meeting in a calm pool at the bottom. The water is constantly being refreshed and is drawn from London's water table. The Memorial also symbolises Diana's quality and openness. Please meet outside the front of Green Park Station on the main road. The meeting area outside the station is directly next to Ritz Restaurant. When you arrive at Green Park underground station, please look for the Piccadilly (South Side) exit. The walk ends at Hyde Park Station if walk only and Victoria Station if doing all the 4 pubs! ABOUT OUR SECRET LONDON WALKS It is a 15-year fascinating journey together to explore the whole of beautiful, enchanting Secret London. The only walking group in the World offering this unique experience! The individual walks have been created from an original route several miles in length (usually on average about 40 miles) where we have checked every nook and cranny, every hidden alleyway, lane, lost cobbled path, cul de sac, avenue, road or street in that area for you! It is then shortened, to give back to you a magical walk with all the best bits of 'Lovely London', voted the best City in the World for the 10th year running! What is given back to you is the most scenic, healthy walk (usually 3-6 miles in length) with some of the walks containing hidden cobbled lanes, lost shops, secret gems, areas lost in time, wonderful views, idyllic Instagram photo shots and all sorts! Now and then some brief local info is mentioned or something of historical importance along the way. You will have plenty of time to chat and meet new friends whilst walking the amazing lost areas of London! So we welcome you to the colourful highlights of this fascinating City of London with simply wonderful things to see! Cornwall at Easter
Cornwall at Easter
We are spending the Easter holiday in Cornwall, staying at Boscastle on the north Cornwall coast. Thursday: After arriving and settling in to our accommodation we plan a leisurely stroll watching the sunset, with fish and chips. Friday: After breakfast we will visit the oldest and largest witchcraft museum, with two floors and 3000 objects to intrigue and inspire. Our walk will then take us through the ancient woodland along the Valency valley. Depending upon the weather we may see the first of the season's bluebells come into bloom. After passing through the valley we will return through Boscastle and onto the lookout station at Willapark with its spectacular views along the North Cornwall Coast, before making our way back to the hostel. Saturday: After breakfast there is a planned 8-mile walk, taking the coast path out of Boscastle over Penally Hill. From there we will have panoramic views over Boscastle, before continuing on to Pentargon, the cliff-top waterfall which drops over 100ft into the cove below. We then continue along Beeny Cliffs until we reach the 2 outcrops of Beeny Sisters where we then leave the coast path and head in land for our return journey back into Boscastle along the River Valency. Sunday: We will head in the opposite direction to the previous day's walk for a 6 or 12-mile walk along the dramatic coast path towards Tintagel, following the coast path until Grower Rock where we will divert from the path inland into Trevalga, before arriving at St Nectan's Glen, pausing to view the waterfall. We return to the coast path which will be taking us around Tintagel, passing the medieval castle at Tintagel Head and then into Tintagel itself. Option to leave the walk at that point and spend extra time exploring the castle and the old post office, then the short bus ride back to Boscastle. For those wanting to continue, we will then head back to Boscastle along the sections of the coast path missed out when diverting to St Nectan's Glen, also picking up a slightly shorter route back down into Boscastle. Monday: Will see us debunk and bid our farewells. Option to take a boat trip with a chance of seeing dolphins, grey seals and basking sharks. Refreshments Hostel has a self-catering kitchen. Lots of places nearby to get essentials, also cafes and bars very close to hostel. Cost of the weekend is just £10 deposit which covers for group membership. Then balance of £125 due for event. Includes 4 nights stay at hostel. Plus guided walks each day. Group membership is for 1 year and ALL walks are then free. To book please rsvp & mail meetup@hawog.org.uk for payment link. Any questions mail meetup@hawog.org.uk ,& please do NOT add comments.
Dulwich Park Nordic Walking
Dulwich Park Nordic Walking
Ready to get outside? Our Thursday morning session in Dulwich park is back! At this moment we can meet with up to 30 people (of more than two households) to do outdoor exercise and walks. However, i like to keep our exercise groups small, so I have set the maximum participants at 12. For now this walk is for our experienced Nordic Walkers only, who already used to Nordic Walk with us regularly before Covid 19 kept us indoors, and who have their own Nordic Walking poles. As this session is outdoors, we will not ask you to wear a face mask, but we do ask you to keep 2 meters apart. Some of our walkers might be immune compromised or more at risk, so please help us keep everyone safe! Please do not come to the session and stay at home if: - you know you have been in contact - in the last 2 weeks- with someone with symptoms of possible Covid, or if you have been in contact with someone who tested positive. - you have any of the following symptoms: (new) Loss of smell/taste, Persistent cough, Fatigue, Loss of appetite, Skin rash, Hives, Fever, Severe muscle pain, Shortness of breath, Diarrhoea, Delirium, Abdominal pain, Chest pain, Hoarse voice, Eye soreness, Sore or painful throat, Nausea or vomiting, Headache, Dizziness or light headedness We meet by the cafe in the middle of the park. Session Price: £10 per session, £89 for a 10-session card or £70 unlimited sessions per month. Session cards and pay Monthly can be used in any of our outdoor walks or indoor Zoom classes sessions (except for the Parkinson's sessions). Pay What Works: The price shown above is the “true” value of the session that best reflects the work I put into preparing and leading your session. However, I understand that not everyone can afford to pay full price, and I don’t want that to stop you from joining us. In an effort to find a balance between more financial accessibility and sustainable pricing, I now offer a “Pay What Works” model. This allows for financial flexibility while still valuing and respecting the work and energy I provide in creating and delivering these classes. Then send an email to ailien@fitandhappyoutdoors.com with the heading “INVOICE please”- followed by “FAHO 1” to pay full price as quoted below, “FAHO 2”, for 20% off, or “FAHO 3” for 50% off. Pllease do tell me if you want to pay for 10 sessions, or if you’d like to pay monthly. I prefer payment by bank transfer, but if that is not possible you could pay in cash. No cheques please, the queues by the banks are just too long. We walk in all safe weather conditions – if a walk is cancelled, we will contact you to let you know. Please check for text messages or Meetup messages before leaving home!

London Indoor Bouldering Evening
London Indoor Bouldering Evening
Join OutdoorLads popular weekly Thursday Bouldering evening at The Arch in Bermondsey. OutdoorLads London boulderers welcome all members of the LGBTQ+ community You'll be meeting with a supportive group of 5 to 10 plus boulderers who are always happy to introduce complete beginners or solve difficult bouldering problems with enthusiasts. We usually follow up with a pub visit. This event is for members of all levels of experience and all are welcome to come along to any of the sessions. Bouldering is a form of climbing where instead of long high routes, the 'problems', as they are referred to, tend to be shorter and focus on technique, balance, body positioning and sometimes power. Because of this different emphasis, bouldering doesn't have the hassle of climbing with ropes, harnesses and belaying, which makes the activities excellent for newcomers to the sport. If you're a seasoned climber you won't need convincing about the benefits of bouldering, but for those who've never climbed more than a staircase, the benefits are wide ranging: from the physical - improved strength, tone, balance, power and coordination; mental - problem solving, focus, concentration and body awareness; to the emotional - relaxation, a sense of achievement and a feeling that mind and body are working together perfectly ('feeling psyched'). On top of all this, bouldering tends to be a very social sport where you can hang out with mates and each have a go as you feel regardless of what level you climb at.

LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK (EASTER HOLIDAY)
LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK (EASTER HOLIDAY)
**Join us for a superb Easter weekend of amazing hiking in England's most mountainous and beautiful national park.** Number of nights - 3. £369 for a bed in a shared twin room. For solo travellers (which is most people in the group) we will assign you a room buddy of the same gender. £455 for a private single room. £489 for a private double room (single occupancy). With the most breathtaking natural landscapes and the highest mountains in England, there really is no other national park in the country to compare to the Lake District. Nowhere else can offer quite so much opportunity for outdoor adventure with the finest hiking options. It is hard to imagine a more lovely place to spend the Easter holiday weekend. Delightful villages, craggy mountains, babbling streams, mossy woodland and beautiful wildflowers all add to the magic of this region at this time of year. Our wonderful three star hotel is located high in the Cumbrian Fells, while the countryside setting ensures peace and quiet. It is the perfect place from which to hike and explore in the Lake District. We have visited the delightful Shap Wells Hotel a number of times as we love it's secluded valley and woodlands full of wildlife including native red squirrels in the grounds. You are virtually guaranteed to see them in the morning! The rooms offer all the necessary comforts in a warm, relaxing, family run environment. This is a charming country hotel with a mile-long drive along a private road with breathtaking, rugged scenery in every direction. A pretty waterfall and trickling stream running by the front door will leave you with no doubts in your mind that this is a wonderful place in which to get away from it all. Evening meals are included and will be served at the hotel's restaurant. We will have at least 2 hikes to choose from each day exploring the highlights of the local area. The Lake District boasts stunning views, picturesque villages and hikes which offer a mixture of rugged mountains, ancient woodlands, fields, riverside and lakeside walking. On our last visit we have enjoyed many gorgeous hikes and the following are just some of the endless possibilities: **Place Fell & Ullswater from Patterdale (approx. 9 miles)** This is a great introduction to fell walking in the Lake District. Although the ascent to the summit of Place Fell (657m) is not too strenuous, the views across to many high peaks and along Ullswater are dramatic and extensive. The final section along the shores of Ullswater has been described in one walking guide book as the loveliest walk in the Lake District! **Watendlath, Borrowdale & Castle Crag from Derwent Water (approx. 10 miles).** This is an exceptionally beautiful hike and a personal favourite. Borrowdale is considered by many to be the most scenic valley in the Lake District and the ascent of Castle Crag adds a little adventure and superb views. There can be very few hikes as varied as this one and a couple of tea rooms in delightful villages along the way allow us to enjoy some light refreshment. Although we do not aim for any high summits there will be extensive views on a clear day. There are also a number of ascents (some long) but the only really steep ascent (up Castle Crag) is relatively short. **Blencathra and Atkinsons Pike via Hall's Fell (approx. 8 miles).** This is a superb route for hikers wanting to reach a significant Lakeland summit (Blencathra 868m) via an adventurous route but not wanting an overly strenuous day out. Starting from the village of Threlkeld this hike tackles the ascent of Blencathra via the steep and rocky hike/scramble up the cockrel's-comb rocky edge of Hall's Fell. The summits and ridges on this hike will offer superb and far reaching views across the Lake District and also the Vale of Eden. On a clear day the view from the summit of Blencathra is hard to beat and the overall route is wonderfully satisfying and somewhat adventurous. A head for heights is necessary. **Dove Crag, Hart Crag, Fairfield and St Sunday Crag from Brotherswater (approx. 12 miles)** This route offers superb fell walking territory from start to finish. Some ascents are steep and the terrain is somewhat challenging taking in several peaks. It is definitely a varied option with far reaching views of mountains and lakes. From the top of Fairfield (873m) we might be rewarded with views of Ullswater, Windermere, Striding Edge and Helvellyn. The walk starts by heading up from Brotherswater, over Dove Crag and Hart Crag to the summit of Fairfield, the highest point of our hike. From there the excitement really begins as we enjoy a bit of scrambling over Corfa Pike and onwards over the ridge of St Sunday Crag. We then start our descent back down to our car park at Cow Bridge. **Kendal, Scout Scar and Cunswick Fell (approx. 7 miles)** This is a walk in the limestone country that lies on the south eastern fringes of the Lake District. From lovey market town of Kendal the route heads up out of the town and continues by way of field and moorland paths to the edge of the escarpment of Scout Scar, a superb viewpoint looking westwards towards the central Lakeland mountains. We then continue along a fine scenic path along the edge of the escarpment which leads onto Cunswick Fell and then over Kendal Fell before descending through woods back into town where there are plenty of pubs and cafes. **High Street, Harter Fell, Branstree & Selside Pike from Haweswater (approx. 11 miles)** Don't be fooled by the unusual title. At 828 metres High Street is a serious mountain, which gets its name from an ancient Roman road that once ran across the long summit ridge. The hike begins with a challenging and rocky ascent up Rough Crag. A series of summits then offers superb and extensive views for miles around. A true Lake District classic for those who don't mind a bit of rough terrain! The full 11 miles would make this a strenuous hike but it is possible to safely return to the carpark along a clear track which descends from the pass between Harter Fell and Branstree. Although this shorter (7 miles) option cuts out two summits, it still involves a lot of ups and downs with some rocky ground, which makes it an "energetic" day out in the mountains. **Shap Abbey (approx. 5 miles)** Shap Abbey is a key feature on this delightful walk. Gaunt and evocative ruins rise up above the banks of the lovely River Lowther. There is more of interest on this walk besides the ruin, not least a huge and mysterious monolith early in the walk, created by stone age settlers of this region. The tiny village of Keld is also very attractive and we can enjoy miles of wild moorland where skylarks trill from high above. ............................................................................................... We will have experienced hike leaders offering fabulous hikes of different length and difficulty each day so you can choose exactly the kind of walk you like. **Don't miss this fabulous weekend away! :D** PRICE INCLUDES: * 3 nights quality hotel accommodation. * 3 breakfasts. * 3 delicious three-course evening meals. * A choice of guided hikes. Our leaders are Mountain Leader (MLTE) trained and qualified first aiders. * Financial protection in accordance with the Package Travel Law 1992. Ouse Valley Lakes and Gardens Trail - Easter Saturday 4 April

Our hike will take us first to picturesque Balcombe Lake and from there we will head through a wooded valley before reaching the shoreline of the magnificent Ardingly Lake, one of the largest in the region. Beyond, we shall find the Victorian Ouse Valley Viaduct. Built of eleven million imported bricks and topped by stone balustrades running the entire length, it was completed in 1842. It has been described as probably the most elegant in the country. We will finish our day with glorious views of this beautiful landscape as we walk up towards the historic village of Balcombe. Meeting place: London St Pancras International train station - near Starbucks (street level) opposite the large time-table board. Nordic Walking Brockwell Park
Nordic Walking Brockwell Park
Ready to get outside? Our Friday morning Nordic Walk in Brockwell Park is back! - you have any of the following symptoms: (new) Loss of smell/taste, Persistent cough, Fatigue, Loss of appetite, Skin rash, Hives, Fever, Severe muscle pain, Shortness of breath, Diarrhoea, Delirium, Abdominal pain, Chest pain, Hoarse voice, Eye soreness, Sore or painful throat, Nausea or vomiting, Headache, Dizziness or light headedness We meet by the Blackbird bakery in Herne Hill, between the station and the park. Please do tell me if you want to pay for 10 sessions, or if you’d like to pay monthly. I prefer payment by bank transfer, but if that is not possible you could pay in cash. No cheques please, the queues by the banks are just too long. We walk in all safe weather conditions – if a walk is cancelled, we will contact you to let you know. Please check for text messages or Meetup messages before leaving home!

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times. *For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)* **HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC** A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about. Recent topics include: * "What are you passionate about right now?" * "What makes a good friend?" * "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?" * "How do you want to be remembered?" * "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?" Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. **WHAT TO EXPECT** This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.* But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here. **FAQ** * Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk! * We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space. * We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space. * Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know. * Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic! **LOGISTICS** * If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event. * This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs. * Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details. * If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋 **IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...** [The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up. * This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
