Never been to one of our meet-ups before? Been a member for a while or just joined? Either way this is the social for you! Once a month we hold a special meet-up to welcome in new members. Regulars are encouraged to attend and help new members have a fun night out! Our monthly “newbie” social is an opportunity to learn about our groups, events held and resources to help members. More importantly it is an opportunity to meet others going through separation & divorce in a safe and friendly environment. We can all learn from each other, but the primary aim of the socials is to enjoy ourselves! Our socials are hosted by members of the Divorce Support & Social Group and the Melbourne Divorce Support Group. We pay for own food and drinks individually. On Wednesday nights the Royal Melbourne has $20 pizza and pasta specials. Great food and great company. We hope to see you!

This is a choose‑your‑own‑romantic‑comedy‑opening‑scene kind of walk. **We’ll drift through**: - The Treasury Gardens (soft lighting, perfect for accidental eye contact) - The Fitzroy Gardens (where half the trees look like they’ve seen things) - The gorgeous old terraces of East Melbourne (heritage architecture judging our life choices) - A pilgrimage to the MCG parklands (Aussie sacred ground, where legends are made and we pretend we know stats) - Then somehow — through charm, improvisation, and mild navigational chaos — we’ll find our way to the Yarra - And wander back via Birrarung Marr, glowing in the evening light like a group of very wholesome troublemakers The route is semi‑planned, which is a polite way of saying: Mark is making it up on the go, **🐾 Pets Welcome** Dogs and cats are absolutely invited to frillick (yes, frillick) with us. If your cat walks on a leash, they automatically become the main character. **🍸 The After‑Party** We’ll wrap up at Transport Bar or one of the floating Yarra bars for: - Drinks - Dinner - Flirtation - Debriefing about which tree was the prettiest - And possibly scouting for a last‑chance Valentine in case the 14th was a dud. **✨ The Vibe** Think: - Playful - Social - Lightly romantic - A little mischievous - And very Eat Drink Dance Melbourne **Bring**: - Comfortable shoes - A sense of humour - Someone you’d like to “accidentally” walk next to - Or just yourself — the group energy will do the rest **⏰ Timing & Rules (or lack thereof)** This is a social wander, not a Swiss train. We’ll aim to start at 6:15pm, but let’s be honest — we’re a group of charming chaos gremlins and it might drift a little. Leave whenever you like. Stay for the whole thing. Disappear mysteriously halfway through like a romantic subplot. It’s all good. **🚫 No Rules, No Pressure** This is one of the rare small-group events where I’m not enforcing any attendance rules. No-shows won’t be banished. Late arrivals won’t be judged but we may not be there when you get there. Ghosting is allowed (but only if it’s stylish). As the Nirvana song goes: Come as you are. On the third Sunday of every month we take a walk in nature. Exercise is so important to all of us and nature has its own unique way of healing. It helps us live in the present, enjoy our surroundings, regain balance and perspective and be pleased with ourselves for going out and doing something. And it costs nothing except time and effort. Our hikes are all over Greater Melbourne and afar. Generally our walks will be 2 to 2.5 hours of moderate grade. Those who want to go more quickly can but generally we try to stay as a group and enjoy the sounds and beauty of nature together. This is a free, in person meeting. Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
