Liberia's Housing Market: Rental Demand, Affordability & Opportunities
# Liberia's Housing Market: Rental Demand, Affordability & Real Estate Investment Opportunities
What kind of housing do Liberians actually want?
How much rent can families realistically afford?
What amenities matter most when choosing where to live?
And where are the biggest opportunities for investors seeking long-term rental income in one of West Africa's fastest-growing urban markets?
Join the Africa Development & Capital Forum for a special presentation examining Liberia's housing market through ongoing market research, resident feedback, and real-world development opportunities.
This event will explore what Liberian residents are saying about housing affordability, rental demand, infrastructure needs, and community preferences—and what those findings mean for investors, developers, entrepreneurs, and members of the African diaspora interested in participating in Africa's growth.
While many discussions about African real estate focus on broad economic trends, this session takes a different approach: listening directly to the people who will ultimately live in these communities.
Through ongoing housing market research in Monrovia and surrounding areas, clear patterns are emerging regarding affordability, household needs, infrastructure priorities, and the types of housing that remain underserved.
## What You'll Learn
### The State of Housing Demand in Liberia
Liberia continues to experience rapid urban growth while facing significant housing challenges.
We'll examine:
* Current housing conditions
* Rental market dynamics
* Population and urbanization trends
* The gap between housing supply and demand
* Opportunities created by unmet demand
### What Residents Actually Want in a Community
Many developments fail because they are designed around assumptions rather than market realities.
We'll discuss what residents consistently identify as priorities, including:
* Reliable electricity
* Running water
* Internet connectivity
* Security
* Recreational spaces
* Retail and commercial amenities
* Family-friendly environments
These insights provide valuable guidance for anyone considering future housing developments.
### Housing Affordability and Market Opportunities
One of the most important questions for any developer or investor is affordability.
This presentation will examine:
* Rental affordability trends
* Pricing realities in the market
* Underserved renter segments
* Opportunities for workforce and affordable housing
* Balancing affordability with investment returns
### Building a Sustainable Rental Community
We'll also discuss the concept currently being explored through Minzo Africa's market research:
A modern residential community featuring:
* Apartment buildings
* Single-family homes
* Reliable utilities
* High-speed internet
* Shopping and commercial services
* Community spaces
* Safe and well-managed infrastructure
The discussion will focus on how market research can help determine the right mix of housing types, pricing strategies, and amenities before construction begins.
### Opportunities for Investors and the African Diaspora
As housing demand continues to grow across West Africa, many investors are looking for opportunities that combine financial returns with meaningful community impact.
Topics will include:
* Rental income opportunities
* Buy-and-hold investment models
* Mixed-income community development
* Diaspora participation in African real estate
* Market risks and considerations
* Long-term growth potential
## Who Should Attend?
This event is ideal for:
* Real estate investors
* African diaspora professionals
* Entrepreneurs
* Developers
* Community leaders
* Students and researchers
* Anyone interested in Africa's housing and economic future
No prior real estate experience is required.
## Why Attend?
The most successful real estate investments begin with understanding the market.
This event offers a unique opportunity to explore emerging housing trends in Liberia, learn what residents actually want, and discuss practical opportunities for creating communities that are both financially sustainable and socially impactful.
Whether you're considering future investments, exploring development opportunities, or simply interested in Africa's growth story, you'll leave with valuable insights into one of West Africa's most important and underserved markets.

Finding Truth, Together
**Finding Truth, Together**
***
Are we facing a crisis of truthfulness?
Given our unique and diverse experiences and perspectives, is it still possible to reach a collective understanding of what is “true” and to form a basis for how we determine truth? And how can we actively seek and recognize what is true, beyond just relying on conventional wisdom, tradition, superstition, or our own personal beliefs?
Truth is an anchor to reality, rooting us in the midst of chaos and providing direction for a path forward. But while access to information has greatly increased, it seems to be increasingly difficult to determine facts from opinions or falsehood. Far beyond just being a problem in politics, it seems to extend into almost every part of our society and cultures. Could our ability to discern truth depend in part on certain spiritual qualities like humility and detachment complementing our senses, our mind, and intellectual training? What is the relationship of truth to justice? Are there tools that can help us seek and find the truth not only as individuals but collectively as a society?
Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us all – as we discuss the spiritual perspective offered by the Bahá’í Teachings on the spiritual solutions to seeking the truth. Join us for a lively discussion as we explore how to apply spiritual principles of finding collective truth to benefit our lives and our communities.
“*Truth has many aspects, but it remains always and forever one*.” – Bahá’í Teachings

Shaping the Future: The Bond Between Children and Caregivers
The relationships children form with parents and caregivers play a profound role in shaping who they become and the kind of world we create together. Through love, guidance, attention, and example, adults help form a child's values and character.
In this discussion, we will explore the importance of nurturing strong bonds with children and the unique opportunity caregivers have to influence future generations in positive and lasting ways. We’ll reflect on questions such as: How do everyday interactions shape character? What values do we hope to pass forward?
This conversation welcomes parents, grandparents, educators, caregivers, and anyone interested in child development and building a more compassionate society through the care and guidance we offer children today.
Join us for an open and meaningful exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives. All thoughtful voices are welcome.

Authentic Relating: A Journey into Heartfelt Connection
\*\* Please go to [Ticket Leap](https://events.ticketleap.com/events/greentara/authentic) to complete your registration \*\*\*
Authentic Relating is for those who want to get beyond small talk and connect more deeply with others in a substance-free, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Most social events throw a bunch of strangers into a room to fend for themselves, which disadvantages people who have social anxiety and with marginalized identities. Authentic Relating intentionally disrupts this dynamic with strategies that facilitate equity and inclusion.
In a world where we often wear a mask, presenting some aspects of ourselves and hiding others in order to be accepted, Authentic Relating invites us to show up as we are. All parts, dimensions, emotions, and aspects that make us human are welcome in this practice. When we share from our authentic selves, we create the opportunity for genuine connections and self-understanding. The result is often moving and therapeutic.
### **What Is Authentic Relating?**
Authentic is being real, honest, revealed, and transparent, allowing others to see, hear, and know our inner world. Relating is welcoming the other person's authentic self and weaving their reality and experience with our own. Authenticity and vulnerability are possible in an environment absent of judgement where we are received with openness, empathy, and compassion. It is also a journey, one where we take the time to get to know each other and feel comfortable enough to reveal ourselves (no one is forced to be vulnerable or share anything they are uncomfortable sharing). Authentic Relating is about creating a space where that journey can happen in a spirit of delight and discovery.
At a facilitated Authentic Relating gathering, one can have a meaningful interaction with every person, practice deep listening and sharing, and feel a sense of belonging. Guided activities encourage participants to be playful, curious, empathetic, thoughtful, and vulnerable. Facilitation and prepared questions help people practice active listening and self-reflection. Everyone has an equal amount of time to talk, listen, and be heard, and no one can dominate the conversation or be a wallflower.
### **Principles and Practices for Authentic Relating**
**Mindfulness:** Slowing down, being present and aware of our inner state and surroundings.
**Empathy:** Being aware of and releasing judgement, employing empathy, curiosity, openness, and recognition of multiple perspectives.
**Authenticity:** Vulnerability, honesty, voicing our truth, self-awareness.
**Centering the other:** No interrupting, giving advice, fixing, or telling your own story. Ask for permission to share your opinion, advice, your own story, and questions.
**Validating:** acknowledging, appreciating, reflecting, empathizing, and presencing.
**Structure:** Timed interactions where people take turns sharing, listening, and reflecting. Conversations range from 5 to 10 minutes.
**Equity:** Conversation partners are assigned randomly in order to avoid choosing partners based on personal preference. Group conversations typically involve going in order around a circle rather than popcorn style.
**Prepared questions:** Directs conversation towards meaningful topics and deeper reflection.

### **Testimonials**
"I live in an intentional community where I am friends with all the residents and we never lock our doors, but even here, we don't reach the depth of connection that I experience at Authentic Relating in 3 hours. This is a heart filled, nourishing practice for everyone who desires genuine connection and community."
"Thank you so much for organizing the event today. I was extremely apprehensive about the experience but you created a safe, joyful, and meaningful event. Your passionate, kind, and gentle spirit helped to create a beautiful and loving environment. I also gained skills that will help me deepen my relationships and connect with more people. I was really pleasantly surprised and moved by the experience."
"I was very surprised with how much I both needed and enjoyed the workshop. As someone who is pretty good with people, I have found that finding friends has been difficult since moving to the DMV for school. I never thought of attending a workshop made specifically for helping people meet new friends would be something I needed, let alone something I would enjoy. The facilitator was kind yet direct, and led the time well, and the activities we fun and varied. Most importantly, real connection was generated, and while obviously follow up is our responsibility, being able to attend a space that helped get us past the meeting phase was worth its weight in gold. I would happily attend again."
"This was amazing! I'm definitely coming back and inviting my friends next time!"
“I will never experience social gatherings the same way again!”
"Most social events are like fast food--stimulating but insubstantial. Authentic Relating feels more like a carefully crafted and nutritious meal, made with love for you."
"I went to this event last month and enjoyed it so much ❤️ I formed a lot of bonds in a short amount of time. Time well spent. Highly recommend it!"
"Authentic Relating is life changing!"
"Clara is a warm and engaging facilitator who makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable to be their authentic selves."

Meaningful Conversation and Coffee: Northside Social Arlington
Higher Grounds – Arlington is part of a growing network of gatherings where we create space for thoughtful, authentic dialogue about what matters most. Whether we’re exploring the nature of happiness, the challenges and possibilities of midlife, spirituality, culture, capitalism, parenting, or the role of art and travel in a meaningful life, every conversation is shaped by the people in the room.
There’s no set leader or rigid agenda—just a shared commitment to listen as much as we speak. We start with brief introductions focused on what makes you you (not your LinkedIn bio), then dive straight into whatever is on people’s minds. The direction of each meetup emerges organically, making every event unique.
MANDATORY: PLEASE REVIEW OUR COMMUNITY GUIDELINES IN THE GROUP DESCRIPTION. Everyone is expected to engage in respectful conversations and listen deeply as well as share. We have a zero tolerance policy of sexual harassment and hate speech.

We are excited to host Guided Meditations on Sundays at 6 pm in our Ashram/Gallery/Home! !! !!
Everyone wants to know what kind of God we worship and what kind of meditation we do. We worship the GOD that LOVES US! We understand that god is an energy and it lives in us as us. Our meditations guide others to actually experience that energy! xoxo We don't just talk about peace, love and affection, we experience it :)
Also we are a home not a business, so we enjoy building community one friend at a time. We always build in time for people to mingle & develop friendships! xoxo Much Love, Frank Tennyson
Namaste, Frank Tennyson
