San Francisco "Forever Fly Free" Grief Summit 2026

San Francisco "Forever Fly Free" Grief Summit 2026

Sat, Apr 25, 12:00 AM
From The San Francisco Grief & Healing Community

Grief can feel isolating, but healing rarely happens alone. Join us on **Friday, April 24**, for the first **San Francisco Grief Summit**, an intimate evening of honest conversation, reflection, and connection with people who understand the many forms grief can take. Hosted by USA Today bestselling author Jenny Brandemuehl, the summit brings together authors, physicians, grief counselors, and community members for a meaningful conversation about navigating loss, trauma, and the journey toward healing. Jenny will share the story behind her memoir *Forever Fly Free*, which chronicles the five months she spent caring for her husband after a devastating small plane crash left him with life-threatening burns. After his passing, Jenny faced a profound season of grief, trauma, and rebuilding that ultimately led her to rediscover purpose, resilience, and love again. She created this summit from a simple belief: healing grows in community. When people come together to share their stories, ask questions, and support one another, something powerful happens in the room. Throughout the evening, guests will hear from an extraordinary group of voices who have dedicated their work to helping others navigate loss and find hope again. **Featured speakers include:** • [Jenny Brandemuehl](https://foreverflyfree.com) – USA Today bestselling author of Forever Fly Free • [Andrea Leeb](http://andrealeebauthor.com/) – National bestselling author • [Dr. Dawn Gross, MD, PhD](https://drasyouwish.com/) – Hospice and palliative care physician • [Cheryl Espinosa-Jones](https://www.goodgriefwithcheryl.com/) – Grief counselor and author • [Kellie Rose](https://www.kellierose.com/) – Singer-songwriter offering a special musical performance The evening will include a guided panel discussion, audience Q&A, time for connection with fellow attendees, and a curated **Summit Library featuring books from each speaker.** Our hope is simple: to create a warm, supportive space where people navigating grief can feel seen, heard, and reminded that healing and joy are still possible. 📅 Friday, April 24, 2026 🕔 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM 📍 Common Space “The Loft” – San Francisco 🎟 **RSVP & Event details:** [www.foreverflyfree.com/griefsummit](http://www.foreverflyfree.com/griefsummit) We’d love to have you join us. Space is limited. Secure your spot today and take the first step toward healing, community, and the reclamation of your joy.

4th Sunday Event - Plant Trees in Oakland April 26th

4th Sunday Event - Plant Trees in Oakland April 26th

Sun, Apr 26, 5:00 PM
From Trees for Oakland
4.9

Looking for a small but impactful way to help in the fight against climate change, and green your community over a weekend? Volunteer to plant trees! Our Tree Team plants trees in sidewalks all around Oakland. As these trees grow, they help to improve air quality, sequester carbon, and improve the environmental conditions of our neighborhoods. Many of the beautiful large trees you see along sidewalks are a result of our volunteers, and we still have so much more to do. No experience is required, but volunteers should be ready to do some digging and get a bit dirty. What: Planting trees along sidewalks and streets in Oakland for homeowners. After the training, we will split into smaller groups and drive to the sites. Who: You! Bring your friends and/or make new ones. No experience is needed. You should be able to lift 30 pounds (half the weight of a new tree). What to Bring: Wear closed-toed shoes, clothes that you can get dirty, and a hat for sun protection; bring your own water, lunch and a snack. We'll provide the shovels, picks, brooms, and gloves, but if you have your own please bring them along as we are short on supplies these days. If you are bringing a minor, please let us know. How: Dig a hole, take the tree out of its pot and put it into the ground, backfill the soil around the roots, and sweep the sidewalk clean. (Don't worry; we'll teach you whatever you don't know -- or take a peek at the guide here: http://www.treesforoaklandflatlands.org/plant-a-tree.html) Where: Meet at our staging area (**1071 61st St. Oakland 94608)**. The trees will be in other places around town, so **please be on time** so we can meet before we disperse. We can plant in light rain, but if we decide to cancel because of heavier rain, we'll announce it here by 8am. For more information or to join our email list, contact us at treesforoakland.org Note: There is no bathroom on-site so make sure to go before you arrive! If you are lost or running late, call or text Bart at 510 917 4352
