Thrive Longevity Training Open House: Strength, Movement, Community & Awards
**Join us at Thrive Longevity Training for an open house and community social.**
This is a chance to meet our members, connect with the Thrive team, see the studio, and learn how our longevity based programming works.
At Thrive, we are not just running random workouts. We use structured training blocks so members can build strength, improve conditioning, recover better, and actually see progress over time.
Right now, our members are training in 6 week strength tracking blocks where we are measuring key lifts and movement patterns so we can see what is improving, where people need support, and how each person is progressing.
You’ll get to learn more about:
• Our longevity focused small group training
• How we combine strength, cardio, recovery, and mindset
• Why we track main lifts over 6 weeks
• How our programming helps members build long term strength, fitness, and confidence
• What makes the Thrive community different & Witness Award Ceremony For our Most Engaged Members
There will be light snacks and refreshments, and you’ll have a chance to connect casually with members and coaches.
This is a relaxed open house, not a workout. Come by, meet the community, ask questions, and see what Thrive is about.

Community Singing & Song Circle with Vie — Your Voice Belongs!
**Every Voice Belongs! Community, Wellbeing & Joy Song Circle**
Join a circle where singing is simple, welcoming, and joyful — and every single voice belongs, especially yours.
This is not a choir. Not a performance. Not just for singers.
This is a community gathering rooted in the powerful act of singing together — the way humans have always come together to connect, heal, and belong. Songs are taught by ear in call-and-response style. You just repeat what you hear. No sheet music. No experience needed. You will be singing within minutes of walking in.
***
**Who is this for?**
* Shower singers, hummers, and those who have always wanted to sing
* Families, parents, children, grandparents — all ages and backgrounds
* All humans regardless of gender identity or experience
* Especially the ones who say "I am not a singer"
***
**What will you experience?**
* Call-and-response singing — simple, accessible, joyful
* A space to express yourself freely and feel genuinely seen
* Community, belonging, and stress relief backed by science
* Hot tea, snacks, toys and art supplies for the kids
***
**The science backs it up:** Community singing is now being prescribed for mental health in the UK and Canada. A British Journal of Psychiatry study found 76% of moms recovered from postpartum depression through community singing — compared to 50% with conventional treatment. Because when voices come together, cortisol drops, oxytocin rises, and isolation lifts.
***
**See what it actually feels like:** 👉 [www.communitysingingwithvie.ca/gallery](http://www.communitysingingwithvie.ca/gallery)
***
**About Vie:** Vie is an expressive arts therapist in training and international song circle leader whose work spans borders and communities — including ongoing circles at Wellspring Cancer Support. Her approach is rooted in trauma awareness and her belief is simple — every voice matters not because it is perfect, but because it is real.
***
**Pay what is generous and affordable for you.** Suggested donation $15–$30. No one is ever turned away.

Avengers’ Saturday Cafe for the Homeless
Note: You may be removed from the attendance list if you've participated in the previous week's event. This allows for more people to experience this Meetup.
Avengers put your costumes on and let’s go and save the world!
Well we can’t save the world (yet), but we aim to try to play a small part in the lives of those experiencing homelessness by making their day a bit better!
Description: Before the event the organizer will post a list in the comment section of the attendees and what they are responsible to bring (food/drink, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies). We normally ask each attending member to bring approximately $15-20 worth of ingredients/supplies to our event. We will use the items to prepare and serve food/drink at The Meeting Place.
Timeline: We will meet on location at 11:00 am, with lunch served between 12:30-1:00 pm.
Membership Dues: Membership dues are $2.00 for the calendar year. Membership dues go towards paying for food/supplies incurred by no-shows. Membership dues are due at the first meetup of the year that you attend.
No Shows/Late Un-RSVP: We’re relying on members who RSVP to bring key ingredients for recipes! Please try your best to show-up or alternatively change your RSVP early so another member may fill the empty spot.
\*\*\* If you are on the waitlist, keep checking as you may be moved into attendance to replace someone. We will try to message you to confirm your attendance in advance.
Donations will be assigned before the event.

Feel Good Friday: POWER BALLAD at the Gateway Film Center + SHAKE NO. 8!
Join us as we get together to see Paul Rudd in the latest comedy-drama-musical from John Carney, POWER BALLAD! The film follows a washed-up wedding singer, a fading boy band singer and a stolen hit song. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: Rick, a washed-up wedding singer, and Danny, a fading boy band star, bond over music and a late-night jam session. When Danny turns Rick's song into a hit, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves. Power Ballad is written/directed by John Carney, the master of the modern musical and creative mind behind Once, Begin Again and Sing Street! It stars Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu and Jack Reynor.
BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film premiered to rave reviews at this year’s Dublin International Film Festival where critics call it “a sure-fired crowd-pleaser” that “just might be the feel-good hit of the year!” Others say, “Paul Rudd delivers a career-best performance in this charmer” that’s both “hilarious and deeply moving." The film continues John Carney’s “long run of success with yet another charmer” and “a sharp, hopeful crowd-pleaser that strikes the right notes!”
